The new Burton and East Staffordshire Homelessness Partnership is giving information about help – including food, warm clothes and housing advice – for rough sleepers in the area. Many charities and organisations exist already to support rough sleepers, so the partnership was formed out of a shared shared commitment by all these organisations to build a more collaborative approach.
Representatives of organisations focused on homelessness – Nacro, Derventio, Burton YMCA, Burton HOPE, Empire of God, Trent and Dove and many others – have come together to develop a partnership approach to tackling the issues of homelessness.
The Partnership’s main aim is to improve collaboration on the critical issue of rough sleeping and to raise awareness of the many excellent and caring services for those who literally have no roof over their head, often night after night. The help that Partnership organisations can give is an essential part of the process of helping rough sleepers become more settled in permanent accommodation.
The Partnership has also launched a website at http://www.burtones-homeless.co.uk/
